Our History:Enchanted Lake Baptist Church has been serving in the Kailua community since 1986. We are a larger family of 125 Southern Baptist churches in Hawaii, with over 16 million members who worship in more than 45,000 churches in the United States
How to become a member?One typically becomes a member by profession of faith in receiving Jesus confession of the "sinner's prayer" i.e. confessinbg Christ as Savior and Lord, Believer's baptism by immersion, as a public expression of faith usually follows. One may also transfer membership from another Southern Baptist or evangelical church (which practices baptism by immersion and has similar doctrines). All are welcome to worship with us, but leadership positions require church membership.

Our Beliefs:The Gospel
The fact that Jesus Christ died for our sins, was buried, and then rose from the grave is foundational for Southern Baptists. He lives today and stands ready to give abundant and eternal life How to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ! Basic Beliefs We are a New Testament evangelical church that believes the Bible is God's inspired Word and that Jesus Christ, is the Son of God, and our Savior. As a reminder of this truth and the Great Commission, you will see on our name tags the ickthus:ΙΧΘΥΣ is the Greek word for "fish".
It is an acronym which translates into English as "Jesus Christ, God's Son, Savior.Fish in the Gospels. Fish are mentioned and given symbolic meaning several times in the Gospels. Several of Jesus' twelve Apostles were fishermen. He commissions them with the words "I will make you fishers of men". In John 21:11, Jesus' disciples fished all night but caught nothing. Jesus instructed them to cast the nets on the other side of the boat, and they drew in 153 fish. |
